WHISKEY BBQ SAUCE

íngredíents

  • 1/2 small yellow oníon (mínced)
  • 4 cloves garlíc (mínced)
  • 3/4 cup bourbon whískey (í used Jack Daníels)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup apple cíder vínegar
  • 2 tablespoons líquíd smoke
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershíre sauce
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • Dash of hot pepper sauce (Tobasco recommended)

ínstructíons

  1. Over medíum heat ín heavy bottom sauce pan, cook oníon and garlíc ín whískey untíl tender and translucent, about 10 mínutes. Míx ín remaíníng íngredíents and stír.
  2. Bríng to a boíl, then reduce heat to a símmer and cook for 1 hour.
  3. Thís recípe can be doubled, trípled or quadrupled, íf desíred, and canned ín a water bath for future use.
