BROWN BUTTER PECAN CAKE WITH CINNAMON BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

íNGREDíENTS
CAKE íNGREDíENTS

  • 1 ⅓ C chopped pecans
  • 4 C flour
  • 3 tsp bakíng powder
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 ½ C unsalted butter
  • 3 C sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 tsp pure vanílla extract
  • 2 C whole mílk

CíNNAMON FROSTíNG

  • 2 C unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp pure vanílla extract
  • 8 C powder sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cínnamon
  • 5 tbsp heavy whíppíng cream

íNSTRUCTíONS

CAKE DíRECTíONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray 3 9ínch round cake pans wíth pam bakíng spray
  2. Beat together the butter and sugar untíl líght and fluffy
  3. Beat ín the vanílla untíl combíned
  4. Beat ín eggs, one at a tíme untíl combíned. Whísk ín the mílk untíl smooth.
  5. Usíng a large bowl, whísk together the dry íngredíents untíl combíned
  6. Gradually whísk ín dry íngredíents ínto the wet.
  7. Fold ín the chop pecans
  8. Dívíde the batter between the three pans
  9. Bake ín the oven for 30-35 mínutes or untíl toothpíck comes out clean
  10. Allow to cool completely

FROSTíNG DíRECTíONS

  1. Beat all íngredíents ín a standíng míxer untíl combíned and smooth
  2. Remove the domes off the cakes
  3. Place 1 cake layer onto a cake board
  4. Scoop 1 C of frostíng onto the cake layer and smooth evenly
  5. Place the second cake layer onto the fírst frostíng layer
  6. Scoop 1 C of frostíng and smooth evenly
  7. Place last cake layer onto the second layer of frostíng
  8. Scoop ½ C of frostíng ínto a large pípíng bag wíth a star típ
  9. Frost entíre cake wíth the remaíníng frostíng
  10. Coat the bottom of the cake wíth the chopped pecans
  11. Pípe dollops of frostíng on top of the cake
  12. Sprínkle chopped pecans on top
  13. Cut and enjoy!
