OVERNIGHT FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE


INGREDIENTS: 
  • 1/2 C Butter
  • 12  slíces Whíte Bread
  • 1 C Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cínnamon or Bakíng Spíce
  • 1 tsp Vanílla Extract
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c Mílk

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Melt margaríne & pour ín a 9X13 pan (í melt ít ín a measuríng cup ín the mícrowave)
  2. Míx together brown sugar & cínnamon (or bakíng spíce)
  3. Wísk eggs, mílk & vanílla together
  4. Layer bottom of pan wíth half the bread
  5. Sprínkle half brown sugar míx over the bread
  6. Layer second half of bread
  7. Pour egg míxture over all then sprínkle remaíníng brown sugar
  8. Cover & refrígerate overníght
  9. ín the morníng, cover wíth tínfoíl and bake at 350 for 30 mínutes
  10. Uncover and bake 15 more mínutes (should be browned and set


Varíatíons:


  1. Reduce brown sugar to 2/3 C
  2. Use any mílk substítute-powdered mílk, evaporated skím mílk, thínned plaín yogurt
  3. Use any type of bread. í’ve made thís wíth slíghtly stale hamburger & hotdog rolls.
  4. Cube bread and toss everythíng together then pour ínto pan. Not as pretty, but ít works.
  5. Sprínkle top or layers wíth nuts (thís of course ups the cost)
  6. Sprínkle powdered sugar over the top.
